Some of Michel Gondry's most celebrated and popular works are his fun ones. You know, the ones where he celebrates humanity, twirling in its odd little dance. He also enjoys setting people in motion to music, similar to the old Hollywood musicals. His videos for Come Into My World, Around the World, and Let Forever Be - the latter shot just before this campaign - exemplify his love of choreography.

The synchronicity of music, people, and playful visual effects in a field of snowy whiteness: enter the Gap Holiday! These three commercials, set famously to a mixture of "Sleigh Ride" and "Ice Ice Baby" (New Edition's "Cool It Now" for 'Kids') are fast wonders of dance and multiplicity. Much like Let Forever Be, Gondry multiplies people and shuffles realities using wicked Buf Compagnie special effects. As dancers groove around a white soundstage, decorated with mountains, trees, or (hehe) kids, they transmute, multiply; whatever the choreography calls for. When the music changes, Gondry shuffles them, and they start skating. Again a shuffle and again they dance to "Sleigh Ride." Ho ho ho!
