Michelle is a former AMV VJ (1998-2000).I am an Ohio University graduate. I am a double major in sociology and environmental science, neither of which i have much interest in anymore.
My interests include music (of course!!!), film, science fiction, running, art, reading, computers, etc etc.
Favorite musicians: radiohead, belle and sebastian, oasis, the beatles, beck, U2, pearl jam, the flaming lips, spiritualized, david bowie, sunny day real estate, sleeper, ash, ride, pulp, the who. I'm pretty much a sucker for brit pop.
I've been getting really into film over the past year or so. I'm taking my third 400-level film class this quarter. My film teacher really turned me on to french new wave film. I even made a 30 minute film in the style of jean-luc godard. You can also see one of my other film projects here on Athens Music Video. It's a film I made set to a song by the band Looper. We showed it on the show as a video. Some mainstream directors i like are kevin smith, stanley kubrick, the coen brothers, david lynch, quentin tarantino, and alfred hitchcock. And I am a Star Wars freak, of course. Also my friend Josh has really gotten me into Japanese animation. I've seen quite a bit of good stuff now, thanks to him, and I have become even nerdier than i already was, if that's possible. I would like to do more with film after i graduate, if i can. I'm planning a documentary right now, to begin this fall.
My favorite things to read include books by Ray Bradbury, books by Kurt Vonnegut, the Sandman comic strip written by Neil Gaiman, Calvin and Hobbes, and well, just about any science fiction.
I love the Simpsons and the X-Files. I like art alot. I like to go to museums. I speak French. I run ever day, usually at least 3 or 4 miles. I like to go to concerts. I like photography. I like to travel, and I have been to Europe. After college i plan on travelling as much as I can.
So...there is a little about me, Michelle, "VJ Hottie," as it calls me on the web site. Athens Music Video has been a really fun part of college here at Ohio University. I hope that anyone who watched and actually saw me liked me as a VJ. I'll be sad after this year when i leave, but perhaps I will be able to do a few guest appearances next year or something.
If you love Michelle that much, see her online journal.
